A_Mar

De repente se me abrieron los ojos. No pude seguir durmiendo así que decidí ir a caminar para ver el amanecer. Para cuando llegue a la playa ya el sol había salido. Caminaba por la orilla del mar. Mis pies a veces se mojaban con el agua calida de las olas que llegaban a humedecerlos. El otoño ya llego, y las mañanas son frescas y la brisa del mar revolcaba sus dedos sobre mi cabello. Aunque la brisa soplaba intensamente y fresca los rayos del sol acariciaban mi piel. Mire hacía al mar vi la inmensidad y la luz del amanecer. Voltee hacia el otro lado, vi mi sombra,  y ahí en medio de las dos caminaba entre la oscuridad y la luz. Entonces surgió un sentimiento de agradecimiento. Mi corazón aún late, como no enamorarse del mar, de la arena, del sol, de la brisa y la playa?

All of the sudden my eyes opened. I couldn’t continue sleeping so I decided to go for a walk and watch the sunrise. By the time I got to the beach the sun was already out. I walked by the shore. My feet would get wet sometimes with the chill water from the waves that made it all the way to them. The Fall is here, the mornings are fresh, the breeze would tangle her fingers on my hair. I looked towards the sea and saw its immensity and the light of sunrise. As I turned to the other side I saw my shadow, and there between darkness and light I walked. Then came a feeling of gratitude. My heart is still beating. How couldn’t you fall in love with the sea, the sand, the sun, the breeze and the beach?
